Serves 6
This is such an easy, Chinese style recipe, you can cook it in
literally 15 minutes and it can easily be adapted to include
whatever vegetables you have in.
Ingredients
600gms beef frying steak, chopped into thin strips
600gms fresh broccoli, cut into long strips or florets
4-5 Thai red chillies or birdseyes, chopped
5cm length fresh ginger, finely chopped
5 cloves garlic, crushed or finely chopped
3 tblsp plain flour
3 tblsp dark soy sauce
3 tblsp Thai fish sauce
juice and zest 3 limes
6 spring onions, sliced thinly
small bunch fresh coriander leaves, chopped roughly
Method
Dip the strips of steak into the soy sauce and then into the flour
and then fry in sesame oil in a smoking hot wok to sear the meat
and retain the juices and flavour.
Then remove the meat from the pan, turn the heat down to a medium
heat and fry the garlic, ginger and chillies until golden. Add the
broccoli followed by the fish sauce, the left over soy sauce, lime
juice and zest. Add the beef and heat through.
Serve with rice or noodles, garnished with spring onions and
coriander.
