Red Alert (F1) is a compact, determinate tomato bred for early and reliable outdoor cropping. It’s designed to grow without fuss, making it well suited to patios, containers and garden beds where space or shelter is limited.
The plants stay manageable in size and begin producing fruit early in the season. Although determinate in habit, Red Alert crops over an extended period rather than in a single flush, particularly with regular picking. This makes it easy to harvest steadily without being overwhelmed.
The fruits are small to medium in size, evenly shaped and a deep, clear red when ripe. Flavour is balanced and traditional, combining sweetness with enough acidity to keep it fresh. The texture holds together well, which makes the tomatoes useful both for fresh eating and simple kitchen use.
Red Alert performs particularly well outdoors in UK conditions and is a good option where greenhouse space is better reserved for cordon varieties. It’s a straightforward, productive tomato that rewards minimal intervention with dependable results.
