Great cooking starts with great ingredients, and the right chilli can transform a dish. Whether it's the sweet, tangy bite of Biquinho, the smoky depth of a Chipotle, or the fiery kick of a Birdseye, chillies have been at the heart of world cuisine for centuries.

This collection brings together the most loved chillies from around the globe—varieties prized by chefs, street food vendors, and home cooks alike. From mild and flavourful to fiery and intense, every chilli here earns its place in the kitchen.

A world of flavour – chillies from Asia, the Americas, and beyond.
Grown for taste first – the perfect balance of heat and complexity.
Supersize plugs available from February 2026 for an early harvest.
See the Chilli Species page for a closer look at how these behave.

There are five main groups of chilli species. The superhot chillies are members of the more slow-growing, tropical Chinense species. Annums (and many of the others) are faster growing and more leggy.

Top Tips for Potting on Chillies

Top Tips for Potting on Chillies

1
Packaging
Packaging: Leave your chilli plants in the packaging upright for 24 hours before potting them on in a warm sunny location. This will help them to acclimatise to their new environment and reduce the stress of being transported.
2
Potting on
Potting on: Pot the chilli plants on into a 9cm pot, which could be a plastic cup with holes in the bottom. Avoid using a pot that is too big, as the chillies may concentrate on root growth rather than foliage.
3
Growing Medium
Growing Medium: Chillies hate having soggy roots. Use a free-draining medium of coir compost and vermiculite when potting on your chilli plants. This will help to ensure that the soil doesn't become waterlogged, which can be harmful to the plants.
4
Drooping
Drooping: Don't panic if your chilli plants droop when potted on - this is normal. They may look a bit unhappy for a few days, but they will soon recover.
5
Sunlight
Sunlight: Chilli plants need plenty of sunlight to grow well, so it's important to place them on the sunniest windowsill in the house. If you have supplementary LED grow lights, don't forget to use them on your chilli plants even when they are on the windowsill. However, be sure to take them off at night if there's a draft or they are behind curtains to prevent them from getting too cold.
6
Temperature
Temperature: Keep in mind that chillies are tropical plants and need to be kept warm. Chinense varieties, in particular, are susceptible to cold and drafts, so it's important to protect them whilst they are young and tender.
7
Watering
Watering: Water your chilli plants plants well after potting on, but be careful not to drench them. This is the only time to water them well - after this, water them sparingly. Chilli plants are much happier in slightly dry soil, so avoid over-watering as it can lead to root rot and problems with nutrient uptake.
8
Feeding
Feeding: Only use chilli plant feed after a couple of days, and be careful not to overfeed. A balanced fertiliser, should be used at half strength every couple of weeks such as seaweed feed.
9
Labelling
Labelling: Finally, remember to label your chillies. This will help you to keep track of the different varieties and ensure that you can identify them later on. It's might even be good idea to keep a record of when you potted them on and how they are growing, so that you can make adjustments if needed.

Hi, my plug plants arrived a week ago, and I have to say they were in the best condition I’ve seen from any supplier. My wife was amazed they even fit in the container! They’ve transplanted perfectly and are growing vigorously a week later. I also appreciate the fertiliser and booklet. My chilli plants and Thai basil arrived yesterday, again in perfect condition—better than any I’ve received in years. Just wanted to share some positive feedback!

Thank you! It’s late April, and I already have nodes sprouting. I’ve been growing chillies for 20 years, and I’ve never seen plants grow this quickly. I’m using Chilli Focus and keeping them in the conservatory—can’t wait to see how big they’ll get by late summer! There’s going to be some monster super-hot pods. Thanks, World of Chillies!

I'm not sure how many compliments you get, but I had to comment on the sheer quality of this year's plants. They were something special from the moment I received them. I've been buying from you for a decade, and this year's harvest is outstanding! I got nearly a kilo of chillies from a single Kashmiri Mirch plant, and the Piri-piri, Cayenne, Serrano, and De Arbol are all absolutely laden. This crop even swept first prizes at the Penistone agricultural show. If you've done something different this year, keep doing it!

After receiving my two orders, I must congratulate you and your team for the first-class service and product this year. I buy many plant plugs online, and their quality often disappoints, unlike yours. Perhaps you should teach the larger companies how to do it. This is the first time I’ve ordered 'plants' rather than 'plugs' after years of growing chillies from your plugs, and I’m not disappointed. They’re healthy, strong, and growing well after potting. I’ll definitely use you again next year and recommend you to my gardening and chilli-growing friends. Well done!

This year has been amazing! The plants I bought from you are nearly breaking under the weight of the fruit, especially the ones that usually struggle. The Purple Jalapeno, Bishops Crown, Madre Vieja, Scotch Bonnet, and more have been particularly successful. Even the slower ones like Pimenta de Neyde are producing now. Just wanted to let you know – hope it’s been a great year for you too!
